| Walking:In Tuscany walking,
opportunites are amazing. Easy valley walks and mountain peaks,
to that of harder scrambles and longer high level walks or the
use of Via Ferrata. People think of Tuscany, and they think
of rolling hills, villas and cyprus trees. Here we truely have
mountains and alpine scenary. There is the Highest Moutain in
Tuscany, Monte Prado at 2054m, which one can walk to on the
main Apennine chain which is a range of high rolling mountains.
To the other, there are the jagged peaks of the Alpi Apuane,
with their imposing outline and features with the highest Monte
Pisanino at 1965m. The views from the Alpi Apuane are superb,
with the sea views of the Versilia coast line to the inland
views of the Garfagnana and the Appennines.
Cultural Tours: There is a timeless feel that still
remains that has long since gone in other areas of Italy.
It is this that gives way to traditions and a culture that
is still very strong in the valley, lending itself very well
to photography and art weeks.
Biking: The routes for mountain biking that we use
for our tours range from animal tracks or old drovers roads
and mule tracks, to single tracks used for hunting and farming,
road routes to jeep tracks and fire trails, single track waymarked
walking trails to wide open passes, it is all possible...The
supply is endless ! Our tours allow for all abilities and
we can adjust the routes accordingly to suit ones need, or
split the group between guides to allow for differing degrees
of ride. So don’t be put off. INTRODUCTION: The network of
roads that thread in and out of the countryside in Italy is
unbelievable !!! Especially in Mountainous areas such as the
Garfagnana, there are tracks and roads to almost wherever
you want to go. With this network of roads the possibility
of road cycling is superb, and as with football, we know cycling
is an Italian Passion, which helps with the Italian drivers
!!. Most routes take to the quiet backroads crossing over
now and then the busy main roads. On these backroads one really
gets a feel for the area and the traditions of Italy and gets
a chance to see real everyday life working its course.
