Vietnam, because of its turbulent
recent history, has been a couple of decades behind the development
of its overwhelming natural beauty for the purposes of tourism.
Now this has changed and as news of its attractions spread it
is fast catching up some of its more established neighbours
as a mainstream tourist destination.
One thing it certainly does not lack is beautiful and, as yet,
little developed beaches. For relaxing, snorkelling and diving
the traveller is spoilt for choice, from the larger resorts
such as Kha Trang to smaller and more isolated hide-aways. With
over 3,000 km of coast there is plenty of choice, and includes
some beautiful scenery such as Halong Bay with over 3,000 islands
rising out of the sea.
